I decided that I wanted to make lots of Christmas goodies this year. Some for us and some for our neighbors. I started by making Chocolate Krinkles, per Zach's request. Then yesterday I finished up by making caramel popcorn and rice krispie Christmas trees. I found the recipe for caramel popcorn on another ladies blog and thought it sounded easy enough. It was the first time I made popcorn on the stove. I was a little nervous about it, but it turned out to be very easy. Here is the link if you want to try too. Caramel Popcorn It was so YUMMY!! We bagged some up for others, but the remainder we kept for us and we have almost eaten it all.
I somehow find myself making rice krispie trees every year. Even for just us. My mom used to always make them at Christmas and I guess I am just carrying on the tradition. There were some other things I wanted to try to make, but the holiday season just snuck up a little too quickly. I really wanted to make my Aunt Connie's cinnamon candy. For some reason I have been craving it. Maybe next year...
We also finally got the chance to watch the movie UP. I had bought it while we were home in Corpus for Thanksgiving. We are trying to build up a movie collection for Hadden when we can find them cheap. I got Up for $5, thanks to my wonderful sis. Zach and I both wanted to watch it, we had just not found the time to sit down and do it. It was cute, but I did not like it as much as I thought I would.
Hadden had a pretty relaxing day. He slept in and then spent some play time on his jungle mat in front of the Christmas tree. He loves the tree so much and is so mesmerized by it, that I told Zach that we might have to leave it up ALL year. He can be screaming and if we take him over by the tree, he almost instantly stops.
Here are some pictures of him hanging out while I cooked.
Spending some one on one time with Walter the giraffe. (Zach named him) :)
